Leap Year Lazarus

March 17, 2016

1.iris reticulata.KS

(Iris Reticulata in March)

Well, the final digital files – the book – have been sent off to the printer. One proof copy and then   THEY’RE  MADE !!!

And shipped out to those who ordered the books.

Unbelievable journey of 4½ years (7 total for the project, but who’s counting), always working on some further aspect of this.  Gory details are on the right under “The Long and Winding Road”, for the curious.

Eternal gratitude, and apologies not only for such late delivery but for my silence as I became mute in gestation, not knowing myself what was happening.

If you need to update your shipping address please do so.

Deeply blessed Spring to you.

If anyone’s interested in info about either treating Lyme with a serious herbal protocol or fending off the ticks to begin with, please drop me an email.

Mystery and Power of the Midway Stretch

July 8, 2011

Well, half the time is gone – and half the goal is met! This is greatly encouraging. The mystery and power of these images will surely stand and walk into the world. The garden dances this week:

Trollium seed head

AND:  the reality is, here we are in the “coasting zone”. The initial enthusiasm’s spread into a smile… and it’s not over yet, not even close.
If you’ve jumped in with me already, A HEARTFUL THANK YOU.
If you’ve been able to spread the word, I THANK YOU.
If you’ve been waiting for a signal… HERE IT IS:
This is when your support is needed most. Little ones, big ones – every pledge brings us closer to paints-books-installations, and pulls the smile into a relieved grin.
Teetering. Now’s the time.
I’ll be posting new reference photos & paintings as updates on the Kickstarter page (see link below in previous post) – sweet glimpses of what’s to come.
Yay team.
This is Zaida’s contribution:

rising up in spring

June 6, 2011
sorting the months, sorting the hours…

Yes, it’s Moira Lazarus here…

after a year and a half from this blog, wherein I flirted with joining the throngs of other lapsed bloggers…
have been rolling with things in the meantime, racked up more than 8,000 reference photos for this ZEN BOOK OF HOURS project that have kept me far longer at the computer than I ever wanted to be. Am already excited about Part Two, the Tropical Zen Book, having begun to do session work in South Florida again. Lush Life.
Last summer (year?) was one immense distraction, but here I am back again in focus. The Zen Book project is on the table for the summer, and I hope to announce very soon a community funding vehicle through which it can finally be finished, be dancing in your hands.
Stay tuned!
Thanks in the meantime to those of you who’ve been supportive through postcard, print and book sales. Keeping the flame alive…

look for the link on the right here under “Pages”… frankfurt show – installation shots… to virtually join me here. Lovely space, Katja Zeller and Ute Reussenzehn in their blumenwerkstatt bornheim have made wonderful “roots and seeds and brambles” to sing with my big stark botanical works. Enjoy.

the swamp de-mystifies

February 13, 2009

YYAYYY! Just got word they put the ART back in HEART down there in Congress. YYAYYY!

from Americans for the Arts:

A United Voice
This is an important victory for all of you as arts advocates.  More than 85,000 letters were sent to Congress, thousands of calls were made, and hundreds of op-eds, letters to the editor, news stories, and blog entries were generated in print and online media about the role of the arts in the economy.  Artists, business leaders, mayors, governors, and a full range of national, state, and local arts groups all united together on this advocacy issue.  This outcome marks a stunning turnaround of events and exemplifies the power of grassroots arts advocacy.

For those who didn’t get the word by other means, here’s the link to see/buy the catalog I made for my last big show in Germany. You can look at an animated preview of the book, and if you want it they will print one up just for you! They also work with various currencies. Ain’t technology grand.

If you’d rather get a copy direct from me, signed and everything, you can send a quick email or leave a comment here. In a minute I’ll have a way to do it on the website… but not yet.

74 pages long, color every page, with descriptive essays on every piece in English and in German, and you can find it here:      http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/273044

Thanks for looking.
